Now that HB 319 (the community association bill) and HB 213 (the mortgage foreclosure bill) have passed the House of Representatives, it is necessary for these bills, or the Senate companion bills, to be approved by the Florida Senate.
I recently had the pleasure of attending a ceremonial bill signing ceremony for HB 1195 at the Florida Capitol. HB 1195 was the comprehensive community association bill that passed during the 2011 legislative session and became effective on July 1, 2011.
SB 530 / HB 1195, the community association “glitch” bill, was voted on by the House of Representatives on Friday, April 29, 2011. We are pleased to inform you that the bill passed in the House by a vote of 113-1.
